Due to US Labor day our office will be operating on a reduced schedule for the long weekend December 3 – 5. Setting Up a Local Development Environment

Hello everyone! I’ve been hearing a lot of requests to explain what kind of IDE and environment we use for local development. I will go over setting up a VKOB project below.

Depending whether or not your are a Mac or PC user you should check out these links to get you started in setting up a LAMP environment:

Setting up a VKOB Project

Step 1. Download your VKOB package from your account dashboard:

Step 2. Unzip the files into the folder of your web server. In my example, it will be in /Users/vkobcom/Sites/vkob_example.

Step 3. Next install your VKOB package in your local server.

Step 4. Create database using your phpmyadmin

Step 5. Run installation script /install.php and add database info.

Step 6. Installation done.
